Ports of call

Palma, Mallorca • Barcelona, Spain • Toulon (for Cote d'Azur), France • Villefranche (for Monaco & Nice), France ⚓ • Livorno (for Florence & Pisa), Italy • Civitavecchia (for Rome), Italy • Olbia, Sardinia • Palermo, Sicily • Naples, Italy

Day 1

Palma, Mallorca

Palma. Think leafy boulevards that echo with the stilettos of stylish shoppers. Tiny tapas bars tucked down narrow sidestreets. Architectural gold hidden in the historic quarter. With its trademark cathedral dominating the skyline, cosmopolitan Palma never fails to impress.

Day 2

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is up there with the most famous cities in the world, and for good reason. Sandwiched between the Mediterranean Sea and the Serra de Collserola hills, this Spanish titan promises cutting-edge architecture, trend-setting fashion and art that breaks the mould. It’s a place where boutique-lined boulevards and intimate espresso bars give way to authentic tapas joints and narrow cobbled streets.

Day 3

Toulon (for the Cote d'Azur), France

Fusing French Riviera glam with the feel of a traditional old town, Toulon is your gorgeous gateway to the Côte d’Azur.

Day 4

Villefranche (for Monaco & Nice), France ⚓

Think of the French Riviera and what springs to mind? Expensive yachts? Wide, palm-fringed boulevards? Glittering turquoise seas? Experience the glamour and glitz of France’s most famous stretch of coast.

Day 5

Livorno (for Florence & Pisa), Italy

Get ready to be impressed – this is your gateway to the dazzling riches of Florence and Pisa.

Day 6

Civitavecchia (for Rome), Italy

Few cities on earth have the power to bowl you over quite like Rome. Discover a city packed with historical wonder, artistic splendour and culinary temptation at every turn. Not to mention enough designer shops to keep you browsing for a year.

Day 7

Olbia, Sardinia

The busy port city of Olbia is the gateway to Sardinia. Venture outside the city and you’ll discover a coastline patched together with sandy beaches, virgin coves and towns that alternate between busy urban centres and pretty Medieval masterpieces.

Day 8

Palermo, Sicily

Sicily’s capital is an exotic blend of Middle Eastern architecture, Baroque buildings and colourful marketplaces you’ll love to explore.

Day 9

Naples (for Pompeii & Capri), Italy

Naples is Italy’s most red-blooded city. This is the place where the pizza is so good people don’t wait for their slices at restaurant tables, they order it to-go from street side windows. And it’s the city where the soundtrack is the beeping of moped horns. For all its joy de vive, you wouldn’t know Naples is actually one of the oldest continuously-inhabited cities in the world. The city centre is actually a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it’s dripping with ancient architecture, cathedrals and churches.

The newest addition, Marella Explorer 2, is joining the fleet in summer 2019. Marella Explorer is the ship’s big sister, so you can expect some similar qualities, like a range of restaurants, a Champneys Spa and Indigo – a chic bar-club-casino space. But there’s one big difference between them – Marella Explorer 2’s reserved for adults.

Cabins

All cabins come with… Air-conditioning • Hairdryer • Flatscreen TV • Wardrobe space • Tea and coffee-making facilities • Safe

Entertainment

Just like on Marella Explorer, Indigo is the ship’s flagship venue. It caters for daytime drinks with a view, as well as all-night dancing. A couple of other bars sort you out for laidback drinks, like the Squid and Anchor pub. For full-on glitz and glamour, the Broadway Show Lounge steps into view.

Dining

There are plenty of familiar faces on Marella Explorer 2’s dining scene. And they cater for all kinds of taste buds – whether you fancy some European eats or fiery Asian flavours.
