Estoril / Cascais
The neighbouring seaside towns of Estoril & Cascais offer a wide and varied array of amenities and something a little different from the norm.
Estoril is the bigger of the two, with excellent shopping, a superb sandy beach, plenty of eateries & watering holes and a casino.
Cascais has a more intimate feel, but still vibrant, with lots of narrow streets, small sandy bays, a marina and a surprisingly wide selection of cafes, bars and restaurants.
it's very easy to enjoy both though, as a 5 minute train ride links the resorts. the added fabulous bonus is that Lisbon is also around 30 minutes away by train.
Hotels available in Estoril Coast
Refurbished for Summer 2017, Pestana Hotel Cascais is quietly located on the outskirts of the resort, just a short walk from the sea-front promenade and the famous Boca do Inferno cave formation, where there are a number of small cafes and bars. It's around a 30 minute walk to the centre of Cascais, though the hotel lays on a courtesy mini bus 5 days a week and there are plenty of public transport options for those who prefer.
The hotel has a pleasant outdoor pool, with spacious sun terrace and loungers. The well kept lawns are an extension of the pool area and the pool bar is open for drinks and snacks in the summer season. The sauna is free to use for guests, while spa treatments are available for a supplement.
For those looking to make the most of a holiday in Estoril, look no further than the perfectly located Vila Gale Hotel Estoril. There are cafes, bars and shops on the doorstep and the casino, with its landscaped lawns, is just moments away. The train station with links to neighbouring Cascais and nearby Lisbon, plus the stunning sandy beach, are also less than 5 minutes walk from the front door.
Superb hotel which is well placed in resort, good service throughout.
